AMOT is the Montaione association of hoteliers and accommodation providers; a group comprising more than 30 local properties includings hotels, B&Bs, farmhouses, vacation rentals and villas.

AMOT's main focus is on being the first point of contact for those who wish to pass a wonderful holiday in the scenic destination of Montaione - a hillside town overlooking the river Elsa valley.

We all know that each tourist is different and each comes with his/her own expectations. That is where we come into the picture: we strive to give the local perspective. We know this land, we have lived and breathed it all our lives and we can assure each and every tourist of an authentic, worthwhile and unforgettable holiday.

Tuscany is tradition and it is the flavour of tradition that we would like you to discover with our cooking classes . These recipes are called "poor dishes": this means that the ingredients are simple, based on the handwritten notes of our grandmothers. They are dishes born from a need, from the seasonal raw materials available and which, over the years, have found a place that we can define as legendary among Tuscan recipes .

Bicycle trips

The route begins in the town of Iano, then along "Via Costia" where you can admire the typical Tuscan landscape and the famous "calanchi". The tour continues on country roads with the various ups and downs to Castelfalfi, an ancient village characterised by an imposing castle. The road then reaches San Vivaldo and its mystical atmosphere with the "Jerusalem of Tuscany". The path continues towards the Sanctuary of Pietrina where there are the ruins of an ancient castle and a unique view of Volterra. From here the road winds back down to the starting point.

This is just one example of the interesting guided tours that we can organise to satisfy bike lovers who appreciate culture and beauty.

83 km that meander through 6 itineraries : uniquely breathtaking landscapes, unspoilt nature, but also cultural heritage with its castles, ancient villages, winding country roads, trails in the woods, Romanesque churches and ruins of ancient settlements.

This is the Tuscan countryside where you can don your runners and a backpack and just 'get lost' in extraordinary places, accompanied only by the sound of the woods and the waters of the Evola stream.

What is the best way to visit the Tuscan landscape from a different angle? Without a doubt, it is on horseback. You can cross suggestive hills, riding from one breathtaking landscape to another, along paths that go from farm to farm, among the vineyards of Sangiovese, the "King of Tuscan grapes", from which a true Tuscan excellence is produced: the Chianti wine .

Maybe then at sunset, you can enjoy a good glass of wine at the end of this wonderful experience.
